Most inventories are built once, by hand, under time pressure.

A technician walks a floor with a laptop or clipboard, transcribes a serial number wrong, guesses at a model variant, and moves on. Six months later nobody trusts the export. The list is roughly right, which is the worst thing an inventory can be.

The cost is not the day spent walking. It is every downstream decision made on that data: the capital request for equipment you already own, the contract renewed on a device past useful life, the recall you cannot match to your serial numbers.

How accurate is it on a worn or partially obscured nameplate?

Capture reads the fields it can see and flags the ones it cannot. Low-confidence fields are surfaced for additional data cross-referencing and or confirmation.

What happens if the model is not in your database?

The record is still created from the extracted fields and queued for enrichment. New models are added and the record backfilled.

Do we have to re-capture devices already in our CMMS?

Yes. Existing CMMS data imports into CAMP first. Capture fills gaps and verifies records that cannot be trusted.

Does it work without a network connection?

Yes. Records are stored locally and push automatically on reconnect.

Where does the photo data live, and who can see it?

Your photos and records stay within your own tenant. CapExpert runs a multi-tenant environment with logical isolation between customers — no other organization, vendor or partner can see your data. Access is provisioned through IAM on a least-privilege basis, and everything is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How do hospitals inventory medical equipment?

Traditionally by walking every room with a clipboard or a CMMS export and typing each device's details by hand. How often should medical equipment be inventoried?

There's no single required interval. Joint Commission standards require a current written inventory of medical equipment, so most teams update it as devices are received, serviced, moved or retired, and run a full physical check periodically. Because Capture is photo-based and works offline, re-checking a unit is a walk-through rather than a project.
